Bottle Aged
ByThis weekend marks my 30th birthday, and fortunately I’ve been too busy planning this website to bemoan the loss of my 20′s.
I’ll be spending a few days in New York City. I might not be able to post every day, but I’ll still be drinking one unique beer each day — no more, and no less.
Hopefully I’ll have Internet access and I’ll write a post about each beer as soon as I can.
What should I drink on my birthday? I stashed a bottle of beer away called “Old Man Winter”, but I’m thinking that “Old Curmudgeon” might be more appropriate. Or should I just find a unique beer someplace in New York?
Let me know what you think — plus, I’ll have 4 days in New York, so if anyone has a New York pub or brew I should keep my eye out for…

I think Stone’s Arrogant Bastard Ale is the obvious choice.

Happy Birthday, Murph! You will be longing for more beer once the weight of 30 begins to be felt. :-)
You’re a week into this now, do you have a pick of the week? Say, for example, I want to be lazy and have a beer a week blog and do as little work as possible.

Happy Birthday, Murphy. I agree with Travis. There needs to be a brew of the month or something. As much as I would like to try every beer that you enjoy and recommend, I’d settle for twelve stout recommendations of good new beers to try over the course of 2009.

Happy Birthday Andy!!! BTW, I also hear Picante salsa’s rendition of New! York! City! in my head when I reference NYC as well.
